Filling the gap between users and developers

December 2019 @Tokyo, Japan

What makes people more willing to accept robots?

Incubion joined in a workshop held by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) to explore the possibility of utilizing robots in service business. This workshop is a part of JST-Mirai program leading researches that produce beneficial economic and social impacts in the future, and aims to help researchers and engineers to set innovative and feasible targets in a few decades.

Although robots impress people when they perform like human, that does not ensure their serviceability in real life situations. It is more important to understand current limit of robots, and to picture feasible working scenario together with robots.  In the workshop, we helped participants to find robot-fit usecases that will outweigh visible/invisible cost of robots, by exemplifying exclusive uniqueness of robots such as bacteria-free or lack of dishonesty, etc.

Incubion has been developing implementation methodology that make robots more accessible, reasonable, and serviceable for people who want them. We are happy to share the experiences so that more robots come in useful in society.

Awareness |

Many of existing robots made of tech-driven motivation often fail to meet user needs. People care robots’ functionalities, as well as affordability and compatibility with environment; in short, people think of whether the robot is appropriate to the context in which it is used. Having sight of citizens is crucial for robot developments in order to familiarize robots.
