Fostering Entrepreneurship through Robotics

INSPIRATION LECTURE |

July 2018 @Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan

Awareness |

CEO Shoko Takahashi gave a lecture at entrepreneurship program in Tokyo Institute of Technology.

The class, one of the Cross Border Entrepreneur Cultivating program in TIT, is made of group-work and lecture, and students learn disciplined entrepreneurship following MIT method.

By sharing history of service robot, a stagnating industry whose tech-driven approach in product development has long ignored user-centric research, and kept providing underwhelming robots to the world, she told the importance of Preliminary Market Research and shared pragmatic method of it when applying to emerging industries.

Following Q&A session excited with lots of debate about how we can apply theories to real practice.

Awareness |

Technical capability is commonly misconceived as customer value. We shared our lessons at service robots, on the contrary, the value resides in combination of consideration for users, environment, sustainable business model, and products that accommodates these elements, and how to orchestrate these are the key for success.
